the length of a rectangular park is 2m less than thrice it's breadth. the perimeter of the park is 156m. find the length and breadth of the park.

Given,

P = 156 m

b = x

l = 3x - 2

atq,

156m = 2(3x - 2 + x)

156m = 2(4x-2)

156m = 8x - 4

160m = 8x

20m = x

Hence, b = 20m, l = 60m - 2 = 58m

Given

Perimeter of the rectangular park is 156m.

As we know that

Perimeter of the rectangle is

2 (l + b)

Where

l = length of the rectangle

b = breadth of the rectangle

According to question :-

⇒ 2 {(3x - 2) + x} = 156

⇒ 2 {3x + x - 2} = 156

⇒ 2 { 4x - 2 } = 156

⇒ 4x - 2 = 156/2

⇒ 4x - 2 = 78

⇒ 4x = 78 + 2

⇒ 4x = 80

⇒ x = 80/4

⇒ x = 20

Now

Breadth of the rectangular park = x = 20m

Length of the rectangular park = 3x - 2 = 3(20) - 2 = 58m

Hence, the length of the rectangular park is 58m.
