Answer:

Let the breadth of the rectangular plot be y and length be x

l = x metres

b = y metres

According to the conditions ;

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

= 2 ( x + y ) ---(1)

Perimeter = 10600/ 53

= 200 ---(2)

equating eq (1) and eq (2)

200 = 2 ( x + y )

x + y = 100 -----(3)

x = y + 40 ----(4)

substituting eq (4) in eq (3)

y + 40 + y = 100

2y = 60

y = 30

substituting y = 30 in eq (4)

x = 30 + 40

x = 70

Therefore the length of the field is 70 m .

Answer:

Let breadth be X meters.

Then, length = (X + 40) meters.

Perimeter = 10600/53 =200 m

∴ 2[(X + 40) + X] = 200

2X + 40 = 100

2X = 120

⇒X = 60.

Hence, length = x + 40 = 100 m.

Hope it helps.
