Let the width be a m

Length = 2a - 9 m

Perimeter = 156

=> 2(a+2a-9) = 156

=> 3a - 9 = 78

=> 3a = 87

=> a = 29

Width = 29 m

Length = 49 m

let breadth of rectangular plot be x m
length=2(x-9)
perimeter=2(l+b)
156 =2(x+2x-18)
156 = 6x-18
6x=156+18
6x=174
x=174/6
x=29m
