question :-

the length of a rectangle plot of land is twice its breadth. if the perimeter of the plot be 300m, find its length and breadth.

answer:-

  • length = 100m

  • breadth = 50m

let's find out !!

given :

  • length = 2x
  • breadth = x

using formula :-

 =  \geqslant perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2(l + b)

 =  \geqslant  \: 300 = 2(2x + x)

 =  \geqslant 300 = 2(3x)

 =  \geqslant 300 = 6x

 =  \geqslant x =  \frac{300}{6}

 =  \geqslant x = 50

hence the breadth of the rectangle is 50m.

now find length of the rectangle which is given length is twice its breadth.

so,

= breadth is 50m

= length will be 50×2 = 100m.

hence length of the rectangle is 100m.

what we have to discuss :-

  • area of square = (sides)²

  • area of rectangle = (b)

  • perimeter of square = 4(sides)

  • perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

  • area of triangle = ½× h

  • perimeter of triangle = a+b+c

  • area of circle = πr²

  • circumference of circle = 2πr

  • area of parallelogram = h
