Answer :
Let, the length be x metres
And the width be y metres.
Therefore,
Area = xy meter sq.
ATQ.
x = 3 + y ------------- 1
And
(x + 3) × (y - 2) = xy
xy - 2x + 3y - 6 = xy
-2x +3y -6 = xy - xy
-2x + 3y - 6 = 0
Using 1
-2( 3 + y ) + 3y - 6 =0
-6 -2y + 3y - 6 =0
y - 12 = 0
Therefore,
y = 12
i.e. width = 12 metres
Using y = 12 in 1
x = 3 + 12
x = 15
i.e. length = 15 metres
Hope it helps!!!!
