Let
- Breadth of the rectangular room = x
- Length of the rectangular room = 2x
Here
- Perimeter of the rectangular room = 45m
As we know that
- Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (l + b)
Where
- l = length
- b = breadth
Put the values in the formula
→ Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (l + b)
→ 45 = 2 (2x + x)
→ 45 = 2 × 3x
→ 45 = 6x
→ x = 45/6
→ x = 7.5
Now
- Breadth of the rectangular room = x = 7.5m
- Length of the rectangular room = 2x = 7.5(2) = 15m
As we know that
- Area of a rectangle is l × b
According to question :
→ Area of the rectangle = 7.5 × 15
→ Area of the rectangle = 112.5m²
Now
- Cost of carpeting 1m² = Rs 110
- Cost of carpeting 112.5m² = 112.5 × 110 = Rs 12,375
Hence, the cost of carpeting it's floor is Rs 12,375.
