  • The cost of framing the rectangular wooden board at the rate of $5 for 20 cm is equal to $ 240 .

Given :-

  • The length of a rectangular wooden board is thrice its width .
  • The width of the board is 120 cm .

To Find :-

  • The cost of framing it at the rate of $5 for 20 cm ?

Formula used :-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Width)
  • Since framing is done outside the rectangle . So we need to find the perimeter of the rectangular wooden board .

Solution :-

given that,

→ The width of the rectangular wooden board = 120 cm

and,

→ The Length of the rectangular wooden board = 3 × the width of the rectangular wooden board

So,

→ The length of the rectangular wooden board = 3 × 120 = 360 cm

then,

→ Perimeter of the rectangular wooden board = 2(Length + Width)

→ Perimeter of the rectangular wooden board = 2(360 + 120)

→ Perimeter of the rectangular wooden board = 2 × 480

→ Perimeter of the rectangular wooden board = 960 cm

now, we have given that,

→ cost of 20 cm length of framing = $ 5

so,

→ cost of 1 cm length of framing = $ (5/20) = $ (1/4)

then,

→ cost of perimeter of the rectangular wooden board = (1/4) × 960 = $ 240 (Ans.)

Hence, the total cost of framing is equal to $ 240 .

Given,

120 cm is the breadth of the rectangular wooden board.

Length of the board 3 times its width or breadth.

To frame 20cm the cost is $5.

To Find,

The cost of framing of the board.

Solution,

The breadth of the rectangular board is 120cm.

As per given the length will be 3×120 cm =360cm.

As we need to frame the board we should know the perimeter of that.

The formula perimeter of any rectangular is 2(Length + Width).

Here for this wooden rectangular board with 120cm width and 360 cm  length, the perimeter will be = 2×(360+120)cm =960cm.

Also given , to frame 20cm the cost is $5.

∴To frame 1 cm the cost is $ \frac{5}{20}.

∴To frame 960 cm the cost is = \frac{5}{20}×960=240$.

Hence, the cost of framing the wooden board at the given rate is $240.

→ cost of 20 cm length of framing = $ 5

so,

→ cost of 1 cm length of framing = $ (5/20) = $ (1/4)

then,

→ cost of perimeter of the rectangular wooden board = (1/4) × 960 = $ 240
