let the breadth of rectangle be x

therefore length=x+8

area of rectangle=length× breadth

=(x+8) ×x

=x^2+8x

if both are increased by 2

length become x+10

breadth become x+2

area of rectangle=length×breadth

=(x+10) (x+2)

=x^2+10x+2x+20

=x^2+12x+20

x^2+12x+20 > x^2+x

(x^2+12x+20)-(x^2+8x) =60

x^2+12x+20-x^2-8x=60

4x+20=60

4x=40

x=40/4

x=10

the breadth of rectangle is 10 cm

Faiqa93: I'm sorry but your answer is wrong
Thatsomeone: then what is the answer
Faiqa93: The breadth is 10 cm and the length is 18 cm
Thatsomeone: now see it
Faiqa93: yeah now its correct
Thatsomeone: :)
