Q. the length of a room is 10 m and breadth is 5 m how many square pieces of area 50 cm square are required on its flour find the expenditure of paving the square pieces on the floor at the rate rupee 20 per piece

Sol.

area of room's flore

                  = 10m X 5m

                  = 1000cm X 500cm

                  = 500000cm²

tiles of area 50cm² required to cover the room's flore

                  = 500000cm²÷50cm²

                  = 10000tiles

cost of 1 tile is 20 rupees, so the cost of 10000 tiles wil be

                  = 10000 X 20 rupees

                  = 200000 rupees

10000 square pieces of area 50 cm² are required on its floor and expenditure will be Rs. 200000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let length of a room = L = 10 m = 10 x 100 cm = 1000 cm

Let breadth of a room = B = 5 m = 5 x 100 cm = 500 cm

Area of the floor = 1000 x 500 cm² = 500000 cm²

Number of square pieces of area 50 cm² required = \frac{500000}{50}  = 10000

Price of 1 square piece = Rs. 20

Price of 10000 square pieces = Rs. 20 x 10000 = Rs. 200000

Hence, 10000 square pieces of area 50 cm² are required on its floor and expenditure will be Rs. 200000.
