Given:

length of room= 15 m

total cost of carpeting= Rs. 6000

Rate of carpeting= Rs. 25 per meter

To find:

Breadth of the room

Solution:

From the equation of area of rectangle, it can be calculated as follows:

area of rectangle= length * breadth

∴ breadth= area of rectangle÷length

Therefore, to find breadth steps are:

length of the carpet = 6000÷25 = 240 m

∴ area of the carpet = ( 240 * (75÷100) = 180m² ∵cost of carpeting is given in cm unit

Hence, area of room = area of carpet = 180m²

width of the room= area÷ length

                            = 180m² ÷ 15m

                            =12m

Hence, the breadth of the room is 12m.

Step by step explanation:

Total cost of carpenting =Rs.6000

Rate of carpenting =Rs.50 per meter

Then,

Length of the carpet =(6000/50)=120m

∴ Area of the carpet =(120×(75/100))=90m2

Area of the floor = Area of the carpet =90m2

Hence, the width of the room = (Area / length)

=(90/15)

=6m
