let breadth be x
length = x + 3
area = 70 m²
l×b=70
(x)(x+3)=70
x²+3x=70
x²+3x-70=0
x²+10x-7x-70=0
x(x+10)-7(x+10)
(x+10)(x-7)
x=-10 or 7
length cannot be -ve
Therefore, -10 is terminated
x=7m
length=x+3
=7+3
=10 m
breadth=x=7 m
perimeter=2(l+b)
=2(10+7)
=2(17)
=34 m
length = x + 3
area = 70 m²
l×b=70
(x)(x+3)=70
x²+3x=70
x²+3x-70=0
x²+10x-7x-70=0
x(x+10)-7(x+10)
(x+10)(x-7)
x=-10 or 7

Let the breadth be x metres and length be (x+3) metres
Since, area = length * breadth
=> 70 m² = (x+3)x=x²+3x
=>x²+3x-70=0
=>x²+10x-7x-70=0
=>x(x+10)-7(x+10)=0
=>(x-7)(x+10)=0
Either x-7=0 or x+10=0
if x-7=0
then x =7
if x+10=0
then x=-10,which is not possible as the number should be positive
Hence, x=7
Hence, breadth is equal to 7 m and length is 7+3=10 m
Therefore,the perimeter of the floor = 2(length+breadth)=2(10+7)=2*17=34 m
Hence, the perimeter of the floor is 34 metres
