Length of floor = 6m 40cm= 640cm

Breadth of floor = 4m 80cm= 480cm

640 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5

480 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5

Greatest length of tile = HCF of length and breadth

HCF of length and breadth = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 = 160cm = 1m 60cm

∴ greatest length of tile = 1m 60cm

Answer:

1st step you have to do Is toconvert both length and breadth into centimetres (cm)

length=640cm& Breadth=480cm

2nd step take out the area by formulae

Ares of rectangle= length×Breadth

=640×480= 308200cm
