Answer :

  • Volume of the room is 216cm³

Given :

  • The length of a room is double its breadth and height is 3cm. If the area of four walls is 108cm²

To find :

  • Volume of the room

Solution :

Given

  • The length of a room is double its breadth so,

  • Let the breadth be x
  • Let the length be 2x

Given,

  • Area of four walls is 108cm²
  • Height is 3cm

Substituting the value :

↬ 2(l + b)h = 108

↬ 2(2x + x) × 3 = 108

↬ 6x × 3 = 108

↬ 18x = 108

↬ x = 108/18

↬x = 6cm

↬ Length = 2x

↬ Length = 2(6) = 12cm

Length of the room is 12cm.

↬ Breadth = x = 6cm

Breadth of the room is 6cm.

Finding the volume of the room :

  • Length of the room is 12cm
  • Breadth of the room is 6cm
  • Height of the room is 3cm

We know that

  • Volume of room = l × b × h

Where

  • l is length of the room
  • b is breadth of the room
  • h is height of the room

↬ Volume of the room = l × b × h

↬ Volume of the room = 12 × 6 × 3

↬ Volume of the room = 216cm³

Hence,

Volume of the room is 216cm³
