Let the side of the square be 100 m.

Area of the square = 100×100 sq.m.

In the new dimension of the rectangle.

Length = 140 m. and breadth = 60 m.

Area of the rectangle = 140×60

ratio

= \frac{area\: of\: the\: rectangle}{area  \: of \: the \: square}

=\frac{140 × 60}{10 × 100}

=\frac{84}{100}

=\frac{21}{25}

= 21 : 25
