Math, asked by CarterTim, 1 year ago

the length of a string between a kite and a point on ground is 90 Meters. If the string makes an angle α with ground level such that tanα=15/8 , How high is the kite, assuming there is no slack in the string.

CarterTim: lenght of string i think which will be hypotenuse
CarterTim: sure, i aint babe tho lol

Let ABC be the rught angled triangle with A being the kite and B being the point on the ground and C bEIng the point where the kite is attached..
BC=90m
Angle ACB=?
Tan theta=15/8
tan theta=90/x
(x be the lenght of the string)
tan theta=90/x
15/8=90/x
x=90 x 8/15
X OR THE LENTH OF SRTING IS 48 M!

CarterTim: couldnt do that one
CarterTim: yep
CarterTim: yes
CarterTim: thanks :)
