here ab is a tangent whose length is 12 cm

so ab=12 cm

moreover ob=15 cm

now ao here is a radius

then ao perpendicular to ab (given)

so thus angle oab=90 (tangent theorem)

now applying pythagoras theorem we get

ob square=ab square+ao square

so (15) square=(12) square+ oa square

thus 225=144+ob square

so oa square=81

taking square roots on both sides we get

oa=+9 or -9

but dimensions lengths are never negative ob=-9 is absurd

so oa=9 cm

thus radius of circle is 9 cm
