Given :-

Side = 8 cm

To Find :-

Length of altitude

Solution :-

Let

triangle = ABC

Draw D from A

Make AD ⊥ BC

Since,

side of equilateral triangle are equal

AB = BC

\angle 1=\angle 2(AB=BC)

AD = AD (Common)

BD = DC (CPCT)

BD = BC/2

BD = 8/2

BD = 4 cm

Now

In ∆ADB

AB² = AD² + BD²

AB² - BD² = AD²

√(AB² - BD²) = AD

√(8² - 4²) = AD

√(64 - 16) = AD

√(48) = AD

√(2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3) = AD

2 × 2√3 = AD

4√3 = AD

Option D is correct(4√3)
