Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

fe = 4 cm

fo = 12 cm

● Explanation -

# Given -

L = 16 cm

M = 3

# Solution -

Magnifying power is given by -

M = fo/fe

3 = fo/fe

fo = 3fe

Also length of astronomical telescope is -

L = fo + fe

16 = 3fe + fe

16 = 4fe

fe = 4 cm

And,

fo = 3fe

fo = 3×4

fo = 12 cm

Hence, focal lengths of lenses are 4 cm and 12 cm.

Thanks dear. Hope this is helpful to you..
