Answer:

Given :-

Length = x

Breadth = 2x

Perimeter = 36 cm

To find :-

Length

Breadth

Area

Method:-

L = 2*B

Perimeter = L + B = 3B = 36 cm

⇒ B = 12 cm

We know, L = 2B ⇔ x = 2*12 cm = 24 cm

Area = L*B

= 24*12

= 288 cm²

So, Area of the rectangle is 288 cm²

\bf{\underline{\underline{Question}}}

The length of an rectangle is twice of its width. The perimeter is 36 .calculate the area of the rectangle.

\bf{\underline{\underline{Solution}}}

\sf{Let\:the\:length\:of\:a\: rectangle\:be\:L}

\sf{Let\:the\:Width\:of\:a\: rectangle\:be\:W}

\sf{Given\:that\:length\:is\:twice\: of\:its\:width}

Then,

\bf{L\:=\:2W}................(1)

\bf{Perimeter\:=\:36}

\bf{2L\:+\:2W\:=\:36}

\bf{2L\:+\:L\:=\:36}

\bf{3L\:=\:36}

\bf{L\:=\:\frac{\cancel36}{\cancel3}}

\bf{\boxed{L\:=\:12}}

\bf{Putting\:Value\:of\:L\:in\: equation\:1\:}

\bf{12\:=\:2W}

\bf{\cancel\frac{12}{2}}\:=\:W

\bf{\boxed{6\:=\:W}}

\sf{Now\:we\:will\: calculate\:area\:of\: rectangle}

\bf{Formula:\:[A\:=\:L \times W]}

\bf{A\:=\:12 \times 6\:=\:72}

\bf{\boxed{Area\:=\:72\:square\:feet}}

\bf{\underline{\underline{Thanks}}}
