Given :
- Length of diagonal of rectangle = 37cm
- Length of shorter side of rectangle = 12cm
To find :
- Length of longer side of rectangle
- Perimeter of rectangle
- Area of rectangle
Solution :
- In Rectangle ABCD , In ΔABC
- ∠ABC = 90° (Right angled)
- AC = 37cm (Given)
- CB = 12cm (Given)
- AB = ?
- AB² = AC² - CB² (Pythagoras Theorem)
- AB² = 37² - 12²
- AB² = 1369 - 144
- AB² = 1225
- AB = √1225
- AB = 35
★ Length of the longer side = 35cm ★
- Perimeter = 2(l+b)
- l is length (longer side)
- b is breadth (shorter side)
- 2 × ( l + b)
- 2 × ( 35 + 12 )
- 2 × 47 = 94
★ Perimeter of the rectangle = 94cm ★
- Area = (lb)
- Area = 35 × 12
- Area = 420
★ Area of the rectangle = 420cm² ★
