Let the length of base be x, then the length of each leg will be x+3

According to question

$x + (x + 3) + (x + 3) = 24$

$3x + 6 = 24$

$3x = 18$

$x = 6km$

Therefore

Base= x= 6km

Leg= x+3= 6+3= 9km
