The length of each of the two equal sides of an isosceles triangle is 2 cm less than twice the length of the third side. Find the dimensions of the triangle if its perimeter is 36 m.

perimeter =s1 +s2+s3=36 cm (let^s take side1 and side2 as 2x-2 and side3 as x)

(2x-2)+(2x-2)+(x) =36cm

5x-4 =36cm

5x=36+4=40cm

x=40/5=8cm

other two equal sides are = 2*8-2=16-2

=14cm

so

side1=8cm,side2 and side3 =14cm
