Let the non congruent side of the given isosceles triangle be x m

As per the first condition,

The length of the congruent sides is (2x +4) m

As per the second condition

Perimeter= 48m

i.e 2(length of congruent side) + length of non congruent side = 48

i.e 2(2x +4) + x= 48

i.e. 4x +8 + x= 48

i.e. 5x = 40

So x= 8 m

2x +4= 2(8) +4= 16+4=20 m

So the dimensions of the given triangle are as follows:

length of congruent sides= 20m

length of non congruent side= 8 m
