Given:-

  • Length of equator of the globe is 22 cm.

To find:-

  • Surface area of the globe.

Solution:-

  • Length of the equator of the globe or circumference of a globe = 44cm

Let,

  • the radius be x.

Circumference of the globe = 2πr

→ 44 = 2 × 22/7 × x

→ x = 44 × 7/44

x = 7

Then,

Surface area of the globe = 4πr²

→ 4 × 22/7 × (7)²

616 cm²

Hence,

  • the surface area of the globe is 616 cm².

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Some Formulae

→ Area of square = (side)²

→ Area of rectangle = length × breadth

→ Area of triangle = ½ × base × height

→ Area of parallelogram = base × height

→ Area of Circle = πr²

GIVEN:-

  • Lenght of equator of globe is 22cm.

TO FIND:-

  • Find surface area of globe.

UNDERSTANDING:-

Here, We will furer find circumference of the globe.

Circumference of the globe is 44cm.

  • Now let us find the circumference of the globe.

Circumference of globe = 2πr

 \implies \sf {44 = 2 \times  \pi  \times r}

 \implies \sf {44 = 2 \times   \frac{22}{7}  \times r}

 \implies \sf {44 =  \frac{44}{7}  \times r}

 \implies \sf {r= 44 \times  \frac{7}{44}}

 \implies \sf {r= 7}

Now,

Surface area of globe = 4πr²

 \implies \sf 4 \times  \pi \times  {r}^{2}

 \implies \sf 4 \times   \frac{22}{7}  \times  {7}^{2}

 \implies \sf 4 \times   \frac{22}{7}  \times  14

 \implies \sf 616 {cm}^{2}

 \large { \boxed{ \underline{ \bf{ \pink{Hence,  \: the \:  surface  \: area  \: of  \: globe  \: is  \: 616cm². }}}}}
