Answer:

Length of the equator of the globe or circumference of a globe =44cm

Let radius r=x

Circumference of the globe =2πr

∴44=2×

7

22

×x

⇒x=

44

44×7

=7cm

Then Surface area of the globe = 4πr

Given:-

The length of equator of a globe 44 cm

Find:-

It's area

Solution:-

The length of equator of a globe is the circumference of the globe.

Circumference=44 cm

So, The circumference of a circle=\orange{2 \ pi \ r}

We know that value of pi is 22/7 or 3.14Here We will use 22/7

44=2×22/7×r

r=44×7/2×22

Therefore r=7 cm

Hence the radius of globe is 7 cm

Now we will find total surface area

Surface area=\pink{4 \ pi\ r^2}

Surface area=\blue{4×22/7×7×7}

Surface area=\green{616 cm^2}

Therefore the surface area is \bold{616 \ cm^2}
