Solution

Given :-

  • The length of hall is 20cm and width is 16cm the sum of the floor and the flat roof is equal to the sum of the area of the four walls .

To Find :-

  • The height of the hall.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let the height of the hall be h metres.

In the above question it is given that sum of the areas of the floor and the flat roof = Sum of the areas of four walls.

=> 2 Ib = 2 ( l + b ) h

=> lb = ( l + b ) h

=> h = lb/ l + b

=> h = 20 × 16 / 20 + 16

=> h = 320/36

=> h = 8.889

Hence,

Height = 8.889
