let the two equal sides as x
And, as it is isosceles triangle
So, base = height = x
we know that for right angeld triangles hypotenuse² = base²+ height²
So, 8² = x²+ x²
or, 64 = 2x²
or, x² = 32
or, x = 4√2
so the equal sides are 4√2 cm
and the area of the triangle is as we know that
½ × base × height
So,½ × 4√2 × 4√2 cm²
= 16 cm²
