Pythagoras Theorem

Solution :

Let the length of the other side = x

By Pythagoras Theorem ,

17^{2} = 8^{2} + X^{2}

X^{2} = 17^{2} - 8^{2}

X = \sqrt{ 17^{2} - 8^{2}

X = \sqrt{ 289 - 64

X = \sqrt{ 225

X = \sqrt{15 * 15

X = \boxed{15cm}

⇒ The length of the other side= 15cm
