Question :

  • The height and length of inner and outer diameter of steel pipe are 104cm , 8cm and 10cm respectively. calculate the volume of the steel that the pipe contains.

 \\

Given :

  • Height = 104cm
  • Inner Diameter = 8cm
  • Outer Diameter = 10cm

 \\

To Find :

  • The volume of the steel that the pipe contains.

 \\

Solution :

✰ As we know that, Volume of the Steel pipe will be given by π(R² - r²)h where R and r represents Outer and Inner radius respectively. Now in this question, Height and Diameters are given so firstly we will the radii and then we will put the values in the formula discussed above.

⠀⠀⠀

Outer Radius :

  • Diameter = 2 × Radius
  • 10 = 2 × Radius
  • 10/2 = Radius
  • 5cm = Radius

Inner Radius :

  • Diameter = 2 × radius
  • 8 = 2 × radius
  • 8/2 = radius
  • 4cm = radius

___________________

Volume of Steel Pipe :

⠀⟼⠀Volume = π(R² - r²)h

⠀⟼⠀Volume = 22/7 × ((5)² - (4)²) × 104

⠀⟼⠀Volume = 22/7 × (25 - 16) × 104

⠀⟼⠀Volume = 22/7 × 9 × 104

⠀⟼⠀Volume = 22 × 9 × 14.85

⠀⟼⠀Volume = 22 × 133.65

⠀⟼⠀Volume = 2940.3cm³

Thus Volume of Steel pipe is 2940.3cm³
