Answer:

The speed at which the tip of minute hand clock moves is

2.44 \times  {10}^{ - 4} m {s}^{ - 1}

Explanation:

Given that,

Length of minute hand of a clock is 14cm.We are required to calculate the speed at which the tip of minute hand moves.For the we have a prerequisite knowledge.

The minute hand of a clock moves along a circular path of radius 14cm and it takes 60min to complete one revolution.

Therefore,the distance covered is circumference of the circle which is

d = 2\pi \  r = 2\pi \times 14 = 88cm

The speed at which the hand tip moves is the ratio of distance covered to the time taken by the minute hand.i e,

Speed =\frac{Distance}{Time}

Substituting the values of Distance and time in above relation,we get

v =  \frac{88 \times 10 {}^{ - 2} m}{3600s}  = 2.44 \times 10 {}^{ - 4}ms {}^{ - 1}

Therefore,the speed of tip of minute hand is

2.44 \times  {10}^{ - 4} m {s}^{ - 1}
