The length of one side of the floor of a square hall is 7 m. A rectangular carpet which
is 5 m long and 4 m wide is laid on the floor. Find the area of the floor that is not
carpeted.Show with diagram.

Given Side (a) of the square floor = 7m

So Area of square floor = 7 x 7 = 49m²

Now , Length of rectangular carpet = 5 m

and Breadth = 4 m

So , Area of Carpet = 5 x 4 = 20 m²

Now , Area of Floor which isn't carpeted = Area of floor – Area of Carpet

=> 49-20 = 29m²

so Answer is 29m²
