Given: Length of the rectangle is twice the length of its breadth and the perimeter is 60cm.

To find: The area.

Answer:

Let the breadth be x.

Therefore length = 2x (Since length is twice the breadth)

Formula to find perimeter:

Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

Substituting the given values,

60 = 2(2x + x)

60 = 2*3x

60 = 6x

x = 60/6

x = 10cm

Therefore length = 2*10 = 20.

Formula to find area:

Area = Length*Breadth

Substituting the given values,

Area = 20*10

Area = 200cm^2

Hope it helps :)

let the breath of rectangle be a
then length of rectangle be 2a

perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l+b )
60 = 2 (2a + a )
60/2 = 3a
30 = 3a
30/3 = a
a= 10 cm

length of rectangle = 2a= 2(10) = 20cm
breath of rectangle = a = 10 cm

area of rectangle= l × b
= 20× 10
= 200 cm ^2
