The length of park is 50m and the breadth is 35m. the width of the flower bed running around the park is 5m.Find the area of the flower bed.

950 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Length = 50 m, Breadth = 35 m.

(1)

Area of park excluding flower bed(abcd):

= 50 * 35

= 1750 m^2


(2)

Area of path including flower bed(ABCD):

Length = 50 + 5 + 5 = 60 m

Breadth = 35 + 5 + 5 = 45 m.

Area = 60 * 45

        = 2700 m^2


Area of the flower bed = Area of ABCD - Area of abcd

                                      = 2700 - 1750

                                      = 950 m^2
