Solution :

Let the breath be 'b'

Length is 5cm greater than breadth.
therefore, Length (l) =b+5

Area of the rectangle = length× breadth=50

(b+5) ×b = 50

${b}^{2} + 5b \: = 50$
${b}^{2} + 5b - 50 = 0$
On factorisation ,

${b}^{2} + 10b - 5b - 50 = 0$
b(b+10) -5(b+10) = 0

(b+10) = 0 , b = -10

(b-5) = 0, b= 5

As the value can't be negative , breadth= 5cm

Length= b +5 = 5 +5 = 10cm.
