Explanation:

suppose

breath x so leanth x+14

perimeter of rectangle =2( leanth)+ 2 ( braeth)

448=2×x+2×x+14

448=2x+2x+28

448=4x + 28

448-28=4x

420=4x

x = 105 mean breath

and x+14= 119 means leanth

• Length of rectangle is 14 cm more than its breadth.

• Perimeter of the rectangle is 448 cm.

• What are the dimensions of the rectangle?

Formula to be used :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b)

Where,

l = Length

b = Breadth

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm

As per question :-

Given that,

Length is 14 cm more than breadth.

Therefore,

Length of the rectangle will be =( x + 14) cm

According to the question :-

Perimeter of the rectangle is 448 cm.

Hence,

___________________________________________________

Perimeter of rectangle = 448

⟹ 2 ( l + b) = 448

Where,

l = x +14

b = x

⟹ 2 ( x +14 + x) = 448

⟹ 4 ( x +7) = 448

⟹ x + 7 = 112

⟹ x = 105

Breadth of the rectangle is = 105 cm

Length of the rectangle is

= x + 14

= 105 +14

= 119 cm

Hence,dimensions are 119 cm and 105 cm.
