Answer:

let the breadth of rect. be x

and length be x+2

given perimeter of rectangle = 28

perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

so, 28 = 2(x+2+x)

28/2 = 2x+2

14 - 2 = 2x

12 = 2x

so, x = 12/2 = 6 CM

length of rectangle = x+2 = 6+2 = 8 CM

breadth of rectangle = 6 cm

I hope it will help you

Given:-

  • Length of a rectangle is 2 cm more than its breadth.
  • Perimeter of a rectangle is 28 cm.

To find:-

  • Length of a rectangle.

Solution:-

Let,

  • the breadth of a rectangle be x.
  • the length of a rectangle be x + 2.

According to the question

Formula used:-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

→ 28 = 2(l + b)

→ 28 = 2(x + x + 2)

→ 28 = 2(2x + 2)

→ 28/2 = 2x + 2

→ 14 = 2x + 2

→ 14 - 2 = 2x

→ 12 = 2x

→ x = 12/2

x = 6

Therefore,

  • Breadth = 6 cm
  • Length = x + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8 cm

Hence,

  • the breadth of a rectangle is 6 cm and length of a rectangle is 8 cm.
