Given : the length of a rectangle is 2cm more than twice its breadth . perimeter of the rectangle is 82 cm

To Find :  length and breadth

Solution:

length of a rectangle is 2cm more than twice its breadth

Let say Breadth = B cm

Length = 2B + 2   cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth)

=> Perimeter = 2  (2B + 2 + B)

=> Perimeter = 2  (3B + 2)

Perimeter = 6B + 4  cm

perimeter of the rectangle is 28 cm

=> 6B + 4 = 82

=> 6B = 78

=> B = 13

Length = 2B + 2 = 2 * 13 + 2  = 28

Breadth = 13 cm

Length = 28 cm

Length = 28 cm  and Breadth = 13 cm
