perimeter of rectangle = 100

2(l+b) = 100

2( 40+b) = 100

80 +2b = 100

2b = 100- 80

2b = 20

b = 10

Given :

  • Perimeter = 100 cm
  • Length = 40 cm
  • Breadth = ?

Now :

</strong><strong>P</strong><strong> = 2(l + b) \\  =  &gt; 100 = 2(40 + b) \\  =  &gt;  \frac{100}{2}  = 40 + b \\  =  &gt; 50 = 40 + b \\  =  &gt; 50 - 40 = b \\  =  &gt; b = 10 \: cm

Hence,

Breadth = 10 cm
