let the width be x

lengtg = 3x - 6

perimeter = 2(l + b)

= 2 ( 3x- 6 + x )

= 2( 4x - 6)

= 8x - 12

8x - 12 = 140

8x = 152

x = 152 /8

= 19

width = 19 cm

lenghtb = 57 - 6

= 51 cm
