Step-by-step explanation:

Length, l = 7 + b (breadth)

Area = 170

lb = 170

=> l = 170/b

Equating both equations for length.

7+b = 170/b

=> b (7+b) = 170

b=170 or

7+b = 170

b = 170 - 7 = 163.

Since length is greater than breadth,

we take,

b = 163 and l = 170.
