Answer:

breadth=xm

length=2x-8m

perimeter=56m

perimeter=2(length+breadth)

56 =2(2x-8+x)

56 =2(3x-8)

56 =6x-16

56+16 =6x

72 =6x

x =72/6

x =12

finally,

breadth=x=12m

length=2x-8=2*12-8=24-8=17

=17m

ANSWER:-

Given:

The length of rectangle is 8m less than the twice of its breadth. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 56.

To find:

Find the length & breadth of the rectangle.

Solution:

⚫Let breadth of rectangle is x m

⚫Let length of rectangle is 2x-8m

According to the question:

We know that, perimeter of rectangle is;

=) 2(length+breadth)

=) 2(2x-8 + x)= 56

=) 2(3x -8)= 56

=) 6x - 16 = 56

=) 6x = 56 + 16

=) 6x = 72

=) x= 72/6

=) x= 12m

Thus,

Breadth, x= 12m

Length, 2x-8

=) 2×12 -8

=) 24 -8

=) 16m

Hope it helps ☺️
