The length of rectangle is incresed by 20 percent and breadth by 40 percent. By what percent is area increased

Here comes ur answers.....

Let the length and breadth of rectangle be x and y respectively....

So,area= x*y

After increament in length and breadth,

l= x + x*20/100 = 6y/5

b = y + y*40/100 = 7y/5

Area= 7y/5*6x/5 = 42xy/25

Increase in area = 42xy/25-xy

= 17xy/25

% increase =17xy/25 * 1/xy * 100

= 68%
