let the breadth be x
Therefore length = 2x - 8
Perimeter = 2(l+b)
56 = 2{x + (2x - 8)}
56 = 2x + 4x - 16
56 +16 = 6x
72 = 6x
x = 72 / 6 = 12

Length = 2x - 8 = 12 * 2 - 8 = 24 - 8 = 16
Breadth = x = 12

☆ Given:-
==============================================

• Breadth b = ?

• Length of the rectangular field l = 8 m less than twice its breadth

= 2b - 8 m

• Perimeter of the rectangular field = 56 m
==============================================

☆ Calculation:-
==============================================

Perimeter of the rectangular field = 2(l + b)

56 = 2(2b - 8 + b)

56 = 4b - 16 + 2b

56 = 6b - 16

56 + 16 = 6b

72 = 6b

72/6 = b

b = 12

Breadth = 12 m Ans.

l = 2b - 8

l = 2 * 12 - 8

l = 24 - 8

l = 16

Length = 16 m Ans.
==============================================

Area of the rectangular field = l * b

= 16 * 12

= 192 m.
==============================================

Ans.) Its length is 16 m and side (breadth) is 12 m.
