The breadth of the rectangular plot

is 33 metres.

The length of rectangular plot 38 meters

______________________________

Step by Step Explanation-:

Let’s breadth of the rectangular plot

be x m.

So ,

According to the question,

The length = (x + 5) m

Given,

Perimeter of rectangular plot = 142 m

Formula of perimeter of Rectangle-:

2(length + breadth) = 142 m

⇒ 2(x + 5 + x) = 142

⇒ 2x + 5 = 142 / 2

⇒ 2x + 5 = 71

⇒ 2x = 71 - 5

⇒ 2x = 66

⇒ x = 66 / 2

⇒ x = 33

Therefore,

Breadth of Rectangle =x m = 33m

Length of Rectangular plot -: (x + 5)

= 33 +5

= 38 m

Hence,

The breadth of the rectangular plot

is 33 metres.

The length of rectangular plot 38 meters

Perimeter of a Rectangle Formula

“P = 2 (l + b)”

Area of rectangle formula-:

“A = l x b”

Here ,

A = Area

B = Breadth

P = Perimeter

L= length

Given

  • Perimeter of plot = 142m

To Calculate

  • Dimensions of plot

Solution

Let the breadth be x.

then, Length will be( x + 5)

According to question,

 \bf2(l + b) = Perimeter

 \bf \implies 2(x + (x + 5)) = 142m

\bf \implies 2(x + x + 5) = 142

\bf \implies 2x + 5 = 142 \div 2

\bf \implies 2x + 5 = 71

\bf \implies 2x = 71 - 5

\bf \implies 2x = 66

\bf \implies x = 66 \div 2

\bf \implies x = 33m

  • Breadth = x = 33m
  • Length = x + 5 = 33 + 5 = 38m

Therefore, Breadth and Length of plot is 33m and 38m respectively.
