The length of room exceeds the breadth by 4 m. if both the length and the breadth are increased by 2 m, then the area of the room is increased by 44 sq.m . find the length and the breadth of the room​

GIVEN :--

Let the breadth be x

Then,

According to the question.

Length will be x + 4

Now,

on adding 2 with both length and breadth we will get length = x + 4 + 2

and

breadth = x +2

As we know,

Area = 2 × ( Length + Breadth )

44 = 2 × ( 2x + 8 )

44 = 4x + 16

4x = 16 + 44

4x = 60

x = 60 ÷ 4x = 15

Therefore,

length = 15 + 4 + 2 = 21

Breadth = 15 + 2 = 17
