Since AB is tangent.
Hence,
OB perpendicular to AB
Therefore,
•angle OBA= 90°
∆OAB is a right ∆
So,
Using Pythagoras Theorem:
(Hypotenuse)²=(base)²+(perpendicular)²
=) OA² = OB² + AB²
=) 35² = OB² + 28²
=) OB² = 35² - 28²
=) OB² = 1225 - 784
=) OB² = 441
=) OB= √441
=) OB = 21cm
Now,
•Area of circle = πr²
=) 22/7 × 21cm × 21cm
