The length of the diagonal of a square is 6 cm.
(a): find it's area

(b): write the relation between the length of the diagonal of a square (d) and its area (A).

(c): is this relation proportional? if so what is the proportional constant?​

a)

diagonal = 6cm

area of square = 1/2 x diagonal ²

= 1/2 x 6²

= 36/2 = 18

= 18cm²

b)

using Pythagoras theorem

side² + side² = diagonal ²

diagonal = side√2 is the required relation.

c) No relation is not proportional.
