  • The length of the diagonal of a rhombus are 16cm and 12cm respectively.

\large\underline\pink{To find:-}

  • Find the length of each of its side .....?

\large\underline\pink{Solutions:-}

Let ABCD be a rhombus.

Let AC and BD be the diagonal of the rhombus intersection at a point o.

  • AC = 16cm
  • BD = 12cm

we know that, the diagonal of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles.

⟹ AO = 1/2 AC

⟹ AO = 1/2 × 16

⟹ AO = 8cm

⟹ BO = 1/2 BD

⟹ BO = 1/2 × 12

⟹ BO = 6cm

from the right ∆AOB:

AB² = AO² + BO²

= (8)² + (6)²

= 64 + 36

= 100

= √100

= 10cm

Hence, the length of the side AB is 10cm.

AB = BC = CD = DA = 10cm

(All sides of a rhombus are equal)
