Let breadth of the floor be b mtr.

Therefore the length of floor = (b+1) mtr.

Perimeter of floor = 2 (l+b)

=> 14 = 2(b+b+1)

=> 14/2 = 2b+1

=> 7 = 2b+1

=> 7-1 = 2b

=> 6 = 2b

=> b= 6/2

=> b=3Breadth = 3 m

Length = (3+1) = 4 m

hence, area = l × b

= 3×4

= 12 m²

Area of floor = 12m²
