The length of the floor of a room is
twice its breadth. It requires Rs 2400
to pave the floor at the rate of Rs 48
per square metre. Find the length of
the floor.​

let l be the length of the floor & b be the breadth of the floor.

Given length l=2(×breadth)

l=2b

b=l/2;

The total cost is Rs. 2400 per square metre.

The cost for 1 square metre is Rs. 40

The total square metre =2400/48

=50 square metre

The area of the floor=length×breadth

50=l×(l/2)

(l^2)/2=50

l^2=100

l=10 metre.
